This Personal Data Protection Notice (“Notice”) is issued pursuant to the requirements of the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (the “Act”). In compliance with the Act, this Notice aims to notify about the personal data that we collect from you.
By engaging us to provide services to you, by interacting with us either through telephone conversations, faxes, correspondences, meetings, seminars, conferences, talks or events or by accessing our website, you consent to the collecting and processing of your personal data by us in the manner contemplated in this Notice.

We shall reserve the right to amend this Notice from time to time. We will place notice of such amendments on our website. By continuing to engage or use our services or by continuing to communicate with us following the updates or amendments to this Notice, it shall signify your acceptance to such updates or amendments.

1. Personal Data Collection
(a) The personal data that has been or maybe collected, stored, used and processed by us from time to time includes:
(b) name, NRIC/passport number, date of birth, gender, nationality, residency status, correspondence address, contact details, e-mail address, banking details;
(c) employment category, name of employer, office address, details of relationship with the company (e.g. director, shareholder);other relevant information required for our legal engagement and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements; and
(d) any additional information provided by you or third parties about you.
2. Sources of Personal Data
In addition to the personal data you provide to us by engaging us to provide legal services and/or communications with us, some personal data may be collected by us from various sources including without limitation to credit reporting agencies, government department or agencies, public registries, websites, publications, events, conferences and seminars.
3. Purposes of Processing Personal Data
The purposes for which your personal data may be used and processed are in relation to the services you have requested as well as for our business activities which includes:
(a) to verify your identity;
(b) to communicate with you;
(c) to respond to your enquiries;
(d) to comply with the legal and/or regulatory requirements;
(e) to send newsletter, articles or updates or information about events, conferences, seminars, talks which may be of interest to you;
(f) to promote, offer or market our services to you;
(g) to send as potential referees to:
i. editors/researches in ranking legal publications and journals;
ii.potential clients who request for referees of past work in requests for proposals, tenders, submissions, etc;
(h) for us to comply with our obligations under the law;
(i) for security and internal audit purposes; and
(j) for all other purposes in relation to or incidental to the above.
4. Disclosure of Your Personal Data to Third Parties
We may under several circumstances, be required to disclose your personal data to third parties as listed below:
(a) any persons directed by or consented by you;
(b) any persons entailed for the purposes of legal engagements and/or legal transactions including but not limited to counter parties, other advisors, financial institutions, regulatory bodies, etc;
(c) any person for the purposes of compliance with legal and regulatory requirements;
(d) our professional advisors including but not limited to tax advisors, financial advisors, auditors, insurance providers, etc; and
(e) our data processors which includes information technology (IT) service providers, data entry service providers, storage facility providers, banks and financial institutions.
5. Transfer of Personal Data
We may under certain circumstances, be required to disclose your personal data outside of Malaysia for the purposes and to such third parties stated in this Notice.
6. Obligation to Provide Personal Data
You have the right in deciding the information you wish to grant to us, as it is voluntary in nature. Nevertheless, if you do not provide or limit such information above, we may unable to:
(a) carry out the legal engagement or transaction and/or to provide our services to you;
(b) limit the scope of services that we may provide to you; and/or
(c) communicate or correspond with you.
7. Data Access and Correction
If you wish to request:
(a) for access to your personal information;
(b) for correction of your personal data; or
(c) limit the processing of your personal data;
